New Right Angle Drive Offers Low Cost

Quality Gear Drives Offer The Most Efficient Power Transfer Design Under Rated Loads

Fairport Harbor, OH - April 26, 2006 - Torque Transmission, an innovator in the engineering and manufacturer of high-quality, fractional horsepower drive components, has introduced a new line of right angle gear drives designed for a wide variety of motion control applications where right angle motion is needed.

Housed in strong, but low-cost glass-reinforced nylon, the new gear drives are available in two model groups; RAB, the standard right angel drive, and MAD, for miniature angle drives.

The RAB Model gear drive measures 3-21/32" x 3-15/16" x 1-1/4" deep and weighs 12 ounces. It employs shielded lubricated, hardened steel ball bearings and gears and is rated at 1600 RPM and 1/3 horsepower maximum speed is 3000 RPM

The MAD (Miniature Angle Drive) Model measures only 1.25 " by 1.25" and weighs a mere 3 ounces, making it especially well-suited for applications where size and weight are a design issue. The MAD uses permanently lubricated gear drives, hardened steel helical gears, and smooth operating non-metallic bearings and is rated at 1,800 maximum RPM and 1/8 horsepower continuous duty.

Both models feature a choice of one or two inputs and 1:1 or 2:1 gear ratios, right or left hand configuration, and may be operated in either direction.

Other Key features include:
o Low cost. Prices start at only $70.00 - Half the cost of comparable metal case drives.
o Off-the-shelf availability. Most configurations are in stock. Overnight delivery is available.
o Choice of case and shaft materials: - RoHos Complaint

"Our new line of right angle gear drives provide equipment manufactures with an alternative to heavy, expensive metal gear boxes without compromising performance," commented John Rampe, President of Torque Transmission, "These new gear drives are a result of our vast engineering and manufacturing experience in designing and producing purpose-built components that meet the specifications of the application without being under or over engineered," he concluded.

Typical uses of Torque Transmission's right angle gear boxes include a wide variety of applications including medical and physical therapy equipment, packaging equipment, or any fractional horsepower application where high quality yet compact, lightweight and economical power transmission is required.
