GAO Introduces 433MHz Active RFID Reader with RS232

Toronto, Canada - GAO RFID Inc. (www.GAORFID.com) now provides a series of active 433MHz RFID readers with RS232 (GAO 214013). This reader is designed for PC access control (PCAC) applications when used in conjunction with Wavetrend PCAC software and for PSION handheld readers.
GAO's 433MHz active RFID L-series reader with RS232 connects directly to an available serial port on the computer. The reader detects the presence of all Wavetrend L-series compatible active tags within its read range and continuously streams the data to the serial port.
GAO's 433MHz Active RFID L-Series Reader with RS232 provides the following features:
o Plugs into any Serial port with a DB9 (male) connector.
o No external power supply is needed as this is supplied by the PC's communication port.
o The Baud rate of outgoing data is 57600.
o The Received Signal Strength indicator is appended to the Tag information, which is passed onto the serial port.
o Small compact design.
o The antennae are enclosed within the product housing.
o Current Consumption: <8mA
