Dow-Key Microwave Introduces Versatile DK-PXI-1001

Multifunctional matrix simplifies testing reconfigurations; balances size and performance

Ventura, CA (October 11, 2006)-Dow-Key Microwave Corporation, part of Dover Corporation's Microwave Products Group, now offers the DK-PXI-1001, a multifunctional radio frequency (RF) switching module for mobile, desk-top testing stations. The new matrix is compatible with PXI standard chassis and cards.

Originally configured as an 18 GHz 4 x 4 non-blocking matrix, the new PXI card offers the flexibility and cost savings of multiple switching configurations in one unit. After the removal of six semi-rigid cables, the user has direct access to 12 internal ports allowing further standard or custom arrangements of the switching network.

"Our new PXI matrix is engineered to offer the size and cost advantages of PXI with the performance benefits of large ATE matrices," said Krzysztof Ciezarek, vice president of engineering/hi-rel products for Dow-Key. "The new matrix simplifies testing re-configurations and broadens the testing capabilities of a single PXI chassis."

DK-PXI-1001 occupies four slots of a standard 3U PXI chassis, with only the first left slot requiring electrical connection. This allows the unit to be used in a low-cost chassis with extension slots: Input - SMA-F, Output - SMA- F.

It performs at a frequency range of DC - 18 GHz and has a maximum switching speed of 20 ms. With an operating life of one million cycles, the matrix is ideal for the high repeatability of automated test equipment.

The Dow-Key PXI card is supplied with a software package that includes an IVI- Compliant driver. The driver supports the following Windows platforms: 98/200/XP. The PXI card complies with the PXI Specification 2.1.
