RF Drivers complement acousto-optic tunable filters.

Press Release Summary:

Eight-channel DFS RF driver, suited for line selection applications, allows independent analog and digital modulation of up to 8 pre-set wavelengths. Internal memory allows up to 16 stored user configurations via USB or RS232 interfaces. For broadband light source filtering and imaging applications, 16 channel DSF RF driver enables independent control of frequency, amplitude, and phase of up to 16 channels. Active pass-band resolution and profile control is possible via USB interface.

Gooch & Housego Launches RF Drivers for Acousto-Optic Tunable Filters

New products to target biomedical, scientific, research and material selection markets

January 21st 2008 - Gooch & Housego has launched two new state of the art RF drivers to complement its extensive range of acousto-optic tunable filters (AOTFs), providing enhanced performance and extending the overall capabilities of this advanced technology. Further information on these products will be available from the Gooch & Housego booth (#1013) at Photonics West 2008.

The 8 channel DFS RF driver for line selection applications allows independent analogue and digital modulation of up to 8 pre-set wavelengths, with an internal memory allowing up to 16 stored user configurations, via USB or RS232 interfaces. The 16 channel DSF RF driver for broadband light source filtering and imaging applications enables independent control of frequency, amplitude and phase of up to
16 channels, allowing active pass-band resolution and profile control via a standard USB interface.

"These advanced RF driver technologies, in combination with our extensive acousto-optics experience, offer the flexibility and control to meet the demanding requirements of today's applications," said Acousto-Optic product manager, Rob Swain. "An ambitious program of development utilising the skill sets, manufacturing expertise and years of experience from across our sites in the UK, US and Germany have enabled us to enhance performance and extend the overall capabilities of AOTF technology.

Applications set to benefit from these advances include confocal microscopy and hyperspectral imaging in the biomedical sector, spectroscopy in the scientific sector and process control/selection in the industrial sector.
