Original Press Release:

Full Range Chainwheel Retaining Cables Offered

A major manufacturer of manual valve operators has added a full line of retaining cable kits for use on overhead chain-wheel installations. Company officials say the cables, appropriately sized to hold the combined deadweight assembly of the valve handwheel and chainwheel, provide a cost effective safeguard against a potentially serious accident. Safety engineers agree that, although rare, such accident can occur if for any reason the handwheel/chainwheel assembly should separate from the valve and fall to the plant floor. For this reason the manufacturer strongly recommends that all chainwheels, new or currently in service, be equipped with a properly sized retaining cable. Immediately available, the new cable kits are offered in three separate series to fit chainwheel and impact (hammer blow) operators from 4" to 30" in diameter. All parts are Stainless Steel and the kits can be installed in minutes using ordinary hand tools. For more information, including a sizing chart, contact ROTO HAMMER INDUSTRIES, P.O.
