Indus Introduces Enterprise Reporting Manager to Meet Customer Demand for Flexible, Open Systems Reporting Tool

New Utility Gives Users Seamless Integration to Custom, Third-party Reports

ATLANTA, September 17, 2002 - Indus International Inc. (NASDAQ: IINT), the leading global supplier of enterprise asset management software and services*, today introduced its new Enterprise Reporting Manager (ERM) tool for Indus EMPAC. ERM enhances the advanced reporting capabilities of EMPAC by enabling seamless integration of custom reports created with a wide range of third-party tools such as Crystal Reports and Business Objects. As a result, customers can incorporate into EMPAC the custom reports created with their favorite report writers -- without the expense and hassles of managing multiple reporting systems.

"We developed this functionality in response to specific customer requests at several EMPAC customer locations," said Peter Manos, Director of EMPAC product management at Indus International. "We are pleased to offer this product which further extends the flexibility and ease of use of EMPAC."

With ERM, EMPAC users can seamlessly integrate the most popular report writers, including Business Objects, Crystal Reports, Microsoft Access 97 and above, Oracle 2000 Report Developer, SQR 4.3 and application-developed reports such as C++, Power Builder and Visual Basic. ERM can be extended to virtually any reporting tool. Furthermore, because ERM uses Microsoft Windows-based systems for all clients, customers can use popular Windows applications to perform vital business functions for their reports, such as faxing, email and printing.

Revitalizing Reporting for Power and Water Corporation
One customer who's already experiencing the benefits of ERM is Australia's Power and Water Corporation. With assets in excess of $1.2 billion and 680 employees, Power and Water Corporation is one of the largest companies in the Northern Territory. Several team leads at the company are using ERM facilities to automatically mail weekly key performance indicator reports to management. Because ERM lets them use their own preferred report writing tools, rather than rely on consultants, Power and Water Corporations' systems administration team can create their own reports and incorporate them seamlessly into EMPAC. As a result, the team has been able to prototype reports in the morning with the users and make them available on the system that afternoon.

"The Indus Enterprise Reporting Manager has completely revitalized the way reporting is done in EMPAC at Power and Water Corporation," said Simon Brisbane, a member of the Business Development team at Power and Water Corporation. "Since the advent of Enterprise Reporting Manager, our reports have taken on a whole new level of sophistication, and our user base has never been happier with them. We would have no hesitation in recommending it for any EMPAC implementation."

Availability
ERM is available immediately to Indus EMPAC customers worldwide.
