StructuRad's App-Xchange Lowers the Cost of PACS and RIS Interoperability

New interface technology seamlessly exchanges data with most Web-based applications

ENCINO, Calif., Nov. 10 -- StructuRad LLC, the innovator in low-cost radiology reporting solutions, announced the availability of App-Xchange, a desktop integration utility that facilitates the exchange of data with most web-based PACS and RIS systems. StructuRad App-Xchange provides for the seamless transmission of patient and study information to and from the ReportNow reporting application. Once the data has been transferred, App-Xchange will automatically launch the ReportNow reporting tool. The radiologist then generates a complete report without re-entering patient and study information. This breakthrough technology means that the benefits of StructuRad's next generation reporting application is interoperable with RIS and PACS without the need for a time-consuming, and costly integration project.

"StructuRad's App-Xchange is an alternative to expensive interfaces and facilitates a faster ReportNow implementation with a RIS and PACS," said Bill Tulloss, Vice President, Marketing and Sales. "This interface approach is significant because all interoperability connections are handled by StructuRad and not shared between two vendors."

StructuRad App-Xchange

With App-Xchange integration of ReportNow into a RIS or PACS, a radiologist can launch the reporting process from the RIS or PACS workflow and the demographics are passed automatically to the report template. A final, formatted report with images, tables and charts is easily prepared with standard or customized macros or speech recognition. The advanced features of ReportNow, which includes Microsoft Word as the native editor, allows the radiologist to produce "polished" looking reports himself, proofread them on the fly, and automatically distribute them back to the RIS or PACS.

App-Xchange is a light-weight application that can be installed onto any desktop and is deployed as part of ReportNow for RIS or PACS integration. It does not alter the workflow process and no complex installation is required. Using App-Xchange eliminates the necessity for costly HL7 interfaces and protects your RIS and PACS investment because upgrades and changes to RIS and PACS systems may require only minimal adjustments by App-Xchange. Each installation is customized for the requirements of that customer site. For details on StructuRad App-Xchange go to http://structurad.com/app-Xchange.html
