Ridge Tool Introduces Compact, Rugged Remote Transmitter
ELYRIA, OH - April 2004 - A new compact, rugged remote transmitter (battery sonde) that is built to handle the toughest locating situations, has been introduced by the Ridge Tool Company.
The new RIDGID® remote transmitter (Cat. No. 16728) is constructed for long life, extra durability and wear resistance with a solid-steel core, an abrasion-resistant urethane coating, and a stainless steel wear ring. It transmits at a frequency of 512 Hz.
With a diameter of 1" and a length of 3", and weighing only 3.7 ounces, the waterproof transmitter is small enough to get into tight spots. The transmitter operates using one AAA-size alkaline battery. The new transmitter features a blinking red LED that is activated by a simple twist of the end cap, to indicate that the sonde is operative.
The new remote transmitter can be attached to drain cleaning cables and water jetter hoses. When attached to drain cleaning equipment, the transmitter can locate a single point within a pipe. Used in conjunction with the NaviTrack(TM) line locator, the new transmitter will locate in a variety of pipe materials including plastic, cast iron, clay tile and black pipe, at depths as great as 10' to 15'.
