WTI Launches 48VDC Power Controlled With Redundant DC Inputs
Irvine, California Sept. 1st, 2005 - Western Telematic Inc. a leader in the design and manufacture of remote power control products has released it's latest remote power controller for -48VDC power control.
The model RPC-4850-8N is an IP-based remote power controller which allows network administrators to control power ON/OFF or BOOT to 8 separate 48VDC circuits at up to 15-amps per individual circuit.
The RPC-4850-8N includes two source power inputs at 50-amps each. Unlike other remote power control units, the dual power inputs on the RPC-4850-8N are fully redundant. An internal diode-bridge design allows the unit to feed power to the output circuits from either input source at any time. If there is any disruption in one of the source power feeds, the RPC-4850-8N will automatically draw source power from the secondary input, ensuring power availability to all output circuits.
The RPC-4850-8N can be controlled via HTTP browser interface or via Telnet. The unit can also be controlled through a RS-232 command-line serial port for out-of-band connection to an external modem or local serial port or for automated scripting.
The RPC-4850-8N has user-level and administrative-level security, and each output circuit can have a unique password, allowing the administrator to give power control access to specific users.
The RPC-4850-8N is manufacture by Western Telematic Inc. (WTI) and is currently in production. The unit has a list price of $1,495 and includes 19" or 23" rack hardware.
