Combilift Ltd. Introduces C8000 Long Load Handling Lift Truck to North American Market

Cleveland, April 2003 -- In an initiative to broaden its base in the United States, Canada and Mexico Combilift has introduced its C8000 Model to these markets. The C8000 is an 8,000-lb. capacity, 4-directional vehicle with an LP gas engine designed to operate indoors as well as out.

It can function indoors as a general purpose reach truck and is designed specifically to handle long loads such as lumber and building supplies, plastic pipe and moldings, steel pipe, rod and extruded aluminum shapes. A low profile load platform ensures load stability during travel and improves access to floor level products and bottom tiers of cantilever racks.

Optional guide rollers permit operation in aisles as narrow as 8 ft. and mast options provide lift heights to 26 ft.

The versatile 4-way maneuverability and narrow aisle configuration make the C8000 ideal for plants with confined storage or production sectors or ones that require a reduction of space in these areas. In operation the 4-directional steering negotiates narrow aisles with long loads, maneuvering into position without having to change the orientation of the truck or load.

The C8000 features hydrostatic drive and brakes that provide precise speed control in confined spaces and high torque for semi-rough terrain, ramps and dock areas. The absence of friction brakes and corresponding lack of shoes/disc pads contributes to economies of maintenance and replacement parts.

The LP gas engine can be fitted with an optional 3-way catalytic converter and an exhaust gas sensor with feedback to the fuel delivery system, permitting extended indoor use and contributing to improved fuel economy with reduced emissions. Full rack-to-truck operation eliminates double handling, reducing fleet size and the associated costs of labor and maintenance.
