Rapid Mobile Web Page Development

Virtual Mechanics has released SiteSpinner Pro V2.91, a unique Windows web authoring tool designed to create web pages optimized for the iPhone, Blackberry, Smartphone, PDA, cell phone, and any mobile device or desktop computer. With more than a billion people accessing the Internet from cell phones and mobile devices, web developers need a way to rapidly create versions of their websites that look good on these handheld devices' small screens. SiteSpinner Pro takes the need for programming skills out of creating web pages that look good on all screens, large and small.

Because Virtual Mechanics and Opera Software partnered to integrate the popular Opera web browser into the latest release of SiteSpinner Pro, it offers features that are not available in any other web authoring software. With SiteSpinner Pro it is possible to design and preview web pages as they'll look using standard mobile device resolutions. This enables the user to create a website for desktop and laptop devices, and then design a separate layout for mobile devices, ensuring that content looks good on any mobile device.

When creating the mobile version of a website, content that was designed for the standard desktop browser can be modified, or completely different content can be inserted and edited. Then, layouts can be previewed side-by-side at different desktop and mobile resolutions directly under the Preview tab.

Once separate desktop and mobile versions of the website have been created, SiteSpinner Pro can publish both layouts as a single file. Visitors to the site using a desktop or laptop see the standard website. Visitors to the site using an iPhone, Blackberry, or other mobile device, see the mobile layout. SiteSpinner Pro also has the ability to create single desktop/mobile optimized pages, as well as content designed for specific mobile devices.

SiteSpinner Pro is a Windows based visual website publisher designed to be easy for beginners, but with powerful features that they can grow into. In addition, the new version has the power features that professional web designers need to serve their clients. "More and more, people are using mobile devices to browse the Internet," said J. Peter White, CEO, Virtual Mechanics. "SiteSpinner Pro now lets website designers create web pages that will look great on these smaller screens.

"Developers prefer to spend their time creating, rather than testing," White continued. "With Opera integrated, developers can build a site and then immediately preview how it renders on screens of any size. This radically cuts site development costs by reducing testing time and additional strain to produce mobile-specific sites."

The program's industry-standards compliant use of CSS enables pixel precision WYSIWYG design that lets you position text, graphics, rich media and words exactly where you want them. Additional layout enhancements including relative sizing and positioning of objects; the content moves and/or scales to fit the page. Graphics functions include image rotation/skewing/layering/transparency. With its built-in word processor, advanced layout options, and integrated graphics capabilities, it's easy to build stunning, professional looking web and mobile sites without having to learn HTML.

In addition to WYSIWYG support for developing pages for mobile devices, SiteSpinner Pro includes advanced features that enable you to build Interactive Animation, including an Action Editor, Behavior Editor, and Key Frame Animator. When your are done, SiteSpinner Pro supports publishing to HTML, DHTML, or SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics). SiteSpinner Pro requires a Pentium-class PC running Windows 98/Me/NT4/2000/XP/Vista. A single-user license for SiteSpinner Pro costs $99(US).
