Railroad Track Scales
A line of pitless, high-capacity modular railroad track scales that are less expensive to build and install than conventional pit-style railway scales has been introduced by Alliance Scale, Inc. of Canton, Massachusetts.
Alliance/Rice Lake Survivor® PL Railroad Track Scale are low-profile, pit-less modules available in 12'6", 15' and 18' lengths with 7'8" and 18'5" platforms for weighing loads up to 170 tons, depending upon construction. Featuring wide flange I-beam construction, heavy weighbridges, and high span deflection ratios, these modular scales cost much less than typical pit-style railroad track scales which require a foundation, claims the firm.
Suitable for weighing carloads of rock at construction sites, coal at mines, and various railcar loads at loading docks, Alliance/Rice Lake Survivor® PL Railroad Track Scales have been designed to the demanding AAR, AREMA, and Cooper E-80 standards, are legal-for-trade, and NTEP approved.
