Radkersburger Selects UGS' New NX CAM Express

Strong NC programming and CAD integration key to selection
PLANO, Texas, Aug. 14 -- UGS, a leading global supplier of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services, announced today that Radkersburger Metallwarenfabrik, an Austrian-based die manufacturer, has selected NX(TM) CAM Express software for manufacturing its deep drawing dies.
Radkersburger Metallwarenfabrik is currently a Solid Edge® customer and today's announcement helps the company integrate CAD geometry with milling operations. Solid Edge is UGS' industry-leading, 3D computer-aided design (CAD) solution and the core CAD component of the UGS Velocity Series(TM) portfolio, the industry's first comprehensive, preconfigured portfolio of digital product design, analysis, manufacturing and data management software for the PLM mid-market. Just announced in June, NX CAM Express, a full function numerical control (NC) programming application, is the latest edition to the Velocity Series.
"At the moment, our contract production in the area of sheet metal forming is developing very well, but we are under immense pressure to reduce our costs in this highly competitive market," said Gregor Merlini, assistant to the management at Radkersburger Metallwarenfabrik. "We selected NX CAM Express in order to work more efficiently and cost-effectively and be less dependent upon ancillary industries."
