Radiance Technologies to Roll out First-Ever Complete Solution Combining Powerful Asset Delivery with Digital Asset Management

LOS ALTOS, Calif., April 19 -- Radiance® Technologies, the leading provider of asset delivery systems (ADS), today announced that it is planning to deliver a completely integrated, single platform that combines digital asset management (DAM) with its field-proven digital asset delivery system. For the first time, customers can combine a fully networked, fault- tolerant digital delivery capability with DAM solutions through a deep integration of DAM applications with Radiance's TrueDelivery(TM) asset delivery system (ADS). Businesses can now gain control over their existing digital assets while leveraging that control to accelerate time-to-air for new programming as well as time-to-market for new products and creative design with a delivery solution that understands and fits into the overall workflow.

TrueDelivery is a software-based delivery technology for moving large digital assets efficiently, securely, and optimally across any network. Unlike other networked delivery products, the TrueDelivery system leverages an organization's existing bandwidth and public networks to most affordably move massive digital assets in a guaranteed, managed way.

"Radiance becomes an ever more robust and cost-effective delivery infrastructure for any high-value, asset-driven collaborative workflow through this integration with leading digital asset management (DAM) products," said Tom Engdahl, president and CEO, Radiance Technologies. "With this unified platform, customers not only have the ability to manage, transform and format content but they can remove the time-consuming manual tasks of delivering their ever-larger files such as video, audio, and high-resolution images while gaining greater control over distributing those assets."

DAM products have traditionally focused on tightly matching and supporting common industry workflows while simplifying and centralizing the process of capturing, storing, routing, and delivering digital content. In the DAM context, however, the delivery aspect entails a function that lets the customer transfer a digital file to a physical media or generate an electronically formatted digital file. Traditionally, the actual distribution of digital files has occurred through a variety of means including physical courier, overnight delivery services, and highly unreliable point products with network bandwidth or file size limitations.

Today, customers are faced with ever growing libraries of digital assets that are increasing in size and volume. Customers are also requiring the flexibility to repurpose content for multiple, new channels of distribution. Consequently, the value chain for content distribution is increasingly more complex at the same time workflows are extending to more locations, across greater distances. Traditional file transfer methods are serving as bottlenecks and time sinks to the entire workflow and business process. Through its single delivery platform and architecture, managed asset delivery solutions are purpose-built to deal with this new, and growing, problem by removing the barriers to timeliness and control that a workflow spanning multiple heterogeneous networks presents, where control is lost to the network infrastructure itself or partner/supplier networks.

As Radiance's asset delivery intelligence and features get layered onto leading DAM applications, where content is made and preserved, customers now are able to extend the total value of the DAM solutions by accelerating collaborative workflows with a digital delivery infrastructure built into their native DAM application environments. Radiance and DAM vendor partners are able to deliver this unified platform for asset management and delivery by implementing Radiance's newest OnRamp(TM) plug-ins and flexible architecture (for more details, see Radiance's announcement of April 9, 2006, headlined "Radiance Technologies Launches OnRamp Plug-Ins to Bridge Gap Between Applications and Massive File Delivery").

The first unified digital asset management and delivery solution for immediate implementation will be announced in 2Q2007 through a technology integration and co-marketing partnership agreement between Radiance and a leading DAM provider.
