New 2U and 4U Rackmounts from Diversified Technology, Inc.
RIDGELAND, MS - January 7, 2004 - Diversified Technology, Inc. announced today the introduction of two new chassis for their line of industrial computer rackmounts. The CRM-2184 (2U) and the CRM-4194 (4U) provide exceptional capacity and expandability in a modular design, and when packaged with one of DTI's high performance PCI single board computers they provide the perfect solution for today's thermally constrained applications.
About the CRM-2184
Diversified Technology's CRM/FTS-2184 low profile (2U) chassis is designed for use with DTI's high performance PCI single board computers and high I/O bandwidth PCI bus add-in cards. Part of DTI's industrial rackmount chassis product family, the system provides exceptional capacity and expandability in a rack-efficient 2U, compact package ideal for applied computing applications. The modular design supports reliability and serviceability.
The CRM/FTS-2184 chassis is highly configurable by offering a micro-floppy drive, micro-CDROM and two 3.5" internal drive bays to accommodate RAID solutions. A USB port, power on/off switch, hard drive activity and power on LED indicators complete the front panel. A door on the front of the unit prevents casual access to these interfaces.
The compact 2U chassis features an open architecture design that supports industry standard PICMG single board computers and full-length I/O cards. Several backplane options are available to fit the need of the application. For high performance applications, DTI offers a backplane that supports up to four 64-bit PCI slots running up to 66MHz for high performance I/O Cards. Other backplanes are available that support up to three 32-bit/33MHz (or 66MHz) PCI slots and up to two ISA slots.
Constructed of heavy-duty steel, the CRM/FTS-2184 chassis has an easily removable top cover for ease of configuration, installation, and maintenance of the SBC and add-in cards. DTI has also designed the chassis to support high reliability, availability and serviceability (RAS) environments with redundant components. Two front 80mm fans, with replaceable filter, provide excellent cooling for today's high performance CPUs and expansion cards. DTI's single board computers monitor the fans and the case temperature and can trigger an alarm (LED) if the thermal conditions are out of range. Power is provided by either a single 300W power factor corrected or redundant 320W AC (or 230WDC) ATX universal power supplies.
Rackable and stackable with a small footprint and compatible with Diversified Technology's LBC full-length SBC's, the CRM/FTS-2184 industrial chassis is the space-saving choice for OEMs addressing medical/laboratory/imaging, industrial control and automation, data acquisition, COTS military/aerospace, and communication, Internet/intranet infrastructure markets. A two year limited warranty is included.
About the CRM-4194
The CRM/FTS-4194 chassis is highly configurable by offering a floppy drive and three front accessible 5.25" drive bays to accommodate RAID solutions. The chassis dimensions of 6.88" H x 16.9" W x 18.75" provide the user a small footprint for rackmount or tower deployments. An additional, internal 3.5" hard drive bay is available with the single 425W power supply. A USB port, power on/off switch, hard drive activity and power on LED indicators complete the front panel.
The compact 14-slot chassis features an open architecture design that supports industry standard PICMG single board computers and full-length I/O cards. Several backplane options are available to fit the need of the application. For high performance applications, DTI offers a backplane that supports up to nine 64-bit PCI slots running up to 66MHz for high performance I/O Cards. Availability and Pricing
Production shipments begin in late Q1/2004. OEM pricing for the CRM-2184 with a 300W AC power supply is $590. Pricing for the CRM-4194 with a single 400W AC power supply is $675.
