Quintiq Expands Planning and Optimization Platform Offering Across Aluminum Customer's Dual Locations

S'-HERTOGENBOSCH, The Netherlands – Supply chain planning software provides Constellium support for interplant supply chain planning

Quintiq, a global leader in supply chain planning and optimization (SCP&O), announced today that Constellium, a global leader in aluminum transformation, is expanding the usage of its SCP&O platforms across plants in France and Switzerland.

Constellium has enjoyed great success using Quintiq's platform to optimize its melt/cast and hot rolling operations for over a decade, and now intend to use it to improve key performance indicators in delivery performance and inventory reduction(http://www.quintiq.com/solutions/production-planning-and-scheduling.aspx) between plants in Valais and Issoire. The extended platform will be immediately applied to Constellium's aerospace product manufacturing sequence.

Prior to Quintiq's platform going live, the Valais plant used an ERP system with fixed lead-time calculations to quote due dates on orders. Now, Quintiq's optimized platform supports reliable due date quotation based on a sales budget check and finite capacity planning that takes into account material availability, from casting to finished goods.

"By implementing Quintiq's platform at Constellium's Valais plant, we have created an opportunity for increased compatibility within its Global ATI division," said Francois Eijgelshoven, Quintiq VP of EMEA. "This expansion to inter-plant supply chain allows multiple locations to participate in the end-to-end production process which increases efficiency and reduces costs."

"Quintiq enables Constellium to improve our supply chain efficiency(http://www.quintiq.com/solutions/supply-chain-planning/supply-chain-optimization.aspx) and optimize our processes, bring them to a level befitting a company of our stature," said Lionel Thomas, Global ATI supply chain & metal director, "Quintiq's platform not only facilitates the seamless expansion of our multi-plant supply chain, but helps our quest of achieving 100% optimization for all of the Global ATI division."
