Original Press Release:

SKy-Loc Rapid Release Pins Available in High Strength and Commercial Grades

Big Sky Distribution is announcing their new line of Sky-Loc Rapid Release Pins. These positive locking pins will not release until the button on the handle is depressed. Once the handle is depressed, the balls retract into the pin, allowing the pin to be removed from the hole. Because the pins can be removed without tools, they are ideal for quick change-over applications and fieldwork.

The pins are available in 17-4 stainless steel (High Strength) and 304 stainless steel (Commercial Grade). Commercial Grade pins are designed for applications where sheer strengths are not demanding. The High Strength pins provide much greater sheer strength. All pins are stocked in four handle configurations with diameters ranging from 1/4" to 5/8" and lengths ranging from 1/2" up to 6".

In addition to the pins, receiver caps and receptacles are also stocked. Receiver caps fit over the end of the pins and allow them to be used in a wide variety of applications where the hole is not within tolerance or is out of round. These caps can replace cotter pins and hitch clips in many applications to allow you to take advantage of the Rapid Release technology. Receptacles provide an ideal mating hole for the pins and allow the pins to be used in thin or weak materials, as well as in blind hole applications.

In addition to the standard pins, custom pins can be produced to meet the needs of specific applications. Some common modifications include different materials, handle configurations, lengths, end styles and ball placement. A catalog with complete specifications is available.
