Ridgid Introduces New Professional Quarter Sheet Sander
Permanent magnet motor provides plenty of power
(Elyria, Ohio) The new RIDGID® Quarter Sheet Sander (Model R2500) has the power professionals need and the features to make their work easier and dust-free. The R2500 has been engineered to meet the professional contractor and woodworker's needs, with an all-new design that features a powerful permanent magnet motor and a versatile, highly efficient dust collection system.

The 2.4 Amp, permanent magnet motor is the heart of the R2500, and provides the user with a substantial, yet quiet power source that operates smoothly with little vibration. The motor is designed to maintain constant speed and power during loaded conditions, enhancing worker productivity.
Oversized quick release tabs make securing standard paper onto the sander an easy task. Dust collection is efficient on the R2500 with active through-the-pad collection, and a screw on
dust bag that unscrews and empties easily with less spilling. The unique, onboard vac-adaptor design of the dust exhaust port means it can be used with both 1-1/4" and 2-1/4" vacuum hoses.
The dust-sealed slide switch, positioned on the side of the body, is designed for easier activation than a rocker switch, and allows the user to verify whether the tool is "on" or "off,"
preventing accidental start-up. Rubber overmold on the unit also contributes to improved grip, comfort and less user fatigue.
The R2500 includes RIDGID's exclusive cord package. This package features a 12-foot all rubber power cord, providing extra reach without an extension cord. The rubber cord is more durable than a plastic cord and stays flexible in cold weather. It also has a lighted plug, which confirms when the tool is "live," featuring a backlit icon of the tool for easy identification. This feature also reduces confusion on busy jobsites where many tool cords are often plugged into one central power strip. Finally, a Velcro(TM) cord wrap organizes the cord neatly for storage, eliminating knots and tangles.
The R2500 comes with dust bag, paper punch and three sheets of sandpaper (120,180 and 220 grit).
