Northwest Analytical Announces Nwa Quality Analyst 5.2

Quality Control Software Offers Fully Integrated Exception Reporting, Enhanced Connectivity, and Greater Control Over Unauthorized Changes

PORTLAND, Ore. (Aug. 7, 2002) - Northwest Analytical, Inc., today introduced NWA Quality Analyst" 5.2, the latest version of its award winning SPC charting and analysis software. Version 5.2 will allow users to automatically monitor processes and facilities with integrated exception reporting, it will simplify database connections with enhanced connectivity, and it will help users meet FDA regulations for electronic records by offering greater control over unauthorized parameter and data modification.

"The new features will help our customers get an improved view of their processes and achieve greater levels of productivity with process analytics, " says Jeffery Cawley, vice president, Northwest Analytical. "We're doing everything we can to remove the technical obstacles and make continuous process improvement within the reach of every employee at every level of the enterprise."

With integrated exception reporting, users can automatically monitor their process or facilities to know when any process variable exceeds control limits, specifications, or has pattern rule violations. The user can select any timeframe for the reports and can drill down on any exception to produce the underlying SPC charts to investigate causes.

"Exception reporting gives users an additional tool to look at their processes and improve productivity." says Cawley, "By monitoring exceptions, one gets a distilled view of process problems without having to review large numbers of SPC charts."

The expanded database connectivity automatically converts normalized database tables to Quality Analyst format. This simplifies reading the data tables typically found in process-oriented databases, MES (manufacturing execution systems), and LIMS (laboratory information management systems) while insulating the user from complex SQL queries.

Because Quality Analyst is often integrated into regulated systems, v.5.2 contains additional tools to prevent unauthorized data and parameter changes. These tools help users meet FDA 21 CFR Part 11 requirements for electronic records.
