PXI Matrix Module features two-pole architecture.

Press Release Summary:

High-density 40-581 can be used in single slot of any PXI chassis and is fully supported by LXI Modular Switching Chassis. Each switching module supports matrix with up to 264 crosspoint switches, organized as 33x8 matrix, and can switch signals up to 150 V, 1 A and 60 W. Constructed using leaded, electro-mechanical relays, each module can be purchased as partially loaded version and comes pre-configured at requested size of matrix.

Pickering Interfaces Introduces Highest Density 2 Pole PXI Matrix Module

Clacton on Sea, UK-July 12th, 2006 - Pickering Interfaces, the leading supplier of PXI switching modules, is further expanding its line of PXI switching modules with the introduction of another first, the world's highest density 1Amp 2 Pole matrix in a single slot PXI module, 40-581. The 40-581 can be used in any PXI chassis and is also fully supported by Pickering Interfaces LXI Modular Switching Chassis. Each switching module supports a matrix with up to 264 crosspoint switches organized as a 33x8 matrix and can switch signals up to 150 V, 1 Amp and 60W.

PXI Switch matrix applications can be very cost sensitive functional test. The 40-581 has been designed to minimise the cost to the user of purchasing and maintaining their switching solution. Each module can be purchased as a partially loaded version to reduce the initial purchase cost. In addition, the modules come already configured at the requested size of matrix, so the user does not need to purchase additional terminal blocks and spend time configuring and testing the matrix.

The module is constructed using high reliability electro-mechanical relays that are particularly suited to more robust loads than lower power signal matrices. Maintenance down time is minimized through the use of leaded relays in preference to difficult to service surface mount devices. Repairs can be easily carried out by any competent service engineer without risking damage to other relays or having to return the module back to the manufacturer's factory or service centre.

The 40-581 is fully supported by Pickering's extensive range of connector, cable and breakout accessories, allowing users to generate a single order for covering all their switching and connectivity solutions.

US Domestic Pricing for the 40-581 is from $1985 to $2995 depending on the number of crosspoints.

Shaun Fuller, Switching Product Manager, commented "The 40-581 1Amp 2 Pole Matrix module yet again illustrates Pickering's commitment to maintain a substantial lead in the PXI switching market by constantly innovating and out-performing all competing products."
