ADLINK Launches Series of 16-bit PXI Digitizers

The PXI-98x6 series offers up to 40 MS/s sampling rates and supports up to 512 MB onboard memory

San Jose, Calif - February 25, 2009 - ADLINK Technology, Inc., a global provider of trusted test and measurement products, today announced the launch of the PXI-9816, PXI-9826, and PXI-9846, a series of high-resolution 16-bit PXI digitizers offering sampling rates of 10 MS/s, 20 MS/s, and 40 MS/s, respectively. This combination of high resolution and sampling rate enables monitoring of high-speed transient signals while maintaining very high accuracy. Furthermore, each digitizer of the PXI-98x6 series supports up to 512 MB of onboard memory sustain the continuous transfer of data between the digitizer and the system for an increased acquisition time.

The PXI-98x6 series also utilizes the PXI trigger bus to synchronize multiple modules without external routing or cabling. "ADLINK's PXI-98x6 series provides a very cost-effective solution for high-channel count simultaneous sampling systems for use in applications such as ultrasonic imaging, non-destructive testing, and automatic electronic testing," said Catherine Wu, Senior Product Director for the measurement and automation division at ADLINK.

The analog front-end of the PXI-98x6 series has been designed to offer greater DC accuracy and higher dynamic performance over similar cards currently available on the market. For example, the signal-to-noise ratio of the 16-bit, 10 MS/s PXI-9816 can be up to 78 dB and its effective number of bits is 12.6 with a 1 MHz sine wave input signal at -1 dBFS amplitude.

ADLINK provides drivers for development in Microsoft C++ and Visual Basic environments. The PXI-98x6 series is also supported by ADLINK's DAQPilot 2 task-oriented driver which not only quickens development time, but also provides Express VIs and Polymorphic VIs for use in Labview(TM).
