NKK Switches Announces Illuminated, Non-Illuminated Devices
Pushbuttons packed with many options for any demanding design
Scottsdale, Ariz. (Dec. 6, 2004)-NKK Switches, a leading manufacturer of electromechanical switches, presents the LB series of standard size illuminated and non-illuminated pushbutton devices.
The LB series is an extensive family of pushbuttons encompassing a myriad of options designed to facilitate even the most demanding design considerations. These devices have unique characteristics including a compact body design to minimize behind panel depth. The combination solder lug and .110 inches quick connect terminals are molded in and epoxy sealed to prevent the entry of flux, dust and other contaminants. They also have a snap-action contact mechanism that ensures long electrical life and sensitivity of actuation. These switches are UL Recognized and CSA Certified. All bases of these switches feature UL94V-0 flammability rated material.
NKK's LB series offers design engineers innumerable configurations, styles, colors and options. Square, round, rectangular or round-panel seal models can be specified and are available in SPDT or DPDT, momentary or alternate action. The alternate action version features a latch-down mechanism to clearly indicate status. Audible and tactile feedback promise smooth and responsive operation. Stainless steel clips provide secure mounting with a wide range of panel thickness in non-panel sealed models. Panel sealed devices are bushing mounted, featuring an internal seal of silicon rubber and an o-ring of nitrile butadiene rubber. Rating is IP65 of IEC529 standard (similar to NEMA 4 & 13). Accessory options for all models include protective guards, dust covers and PC sockets. Matching indicators are also available for non-sealed devices.
The LB series lighted version is unique in its choices of illumination. Offerings include not only incandescent bulbs in various voltages and neon bulbs, but also a myriad of LED colors, intensities and combinations. Engineers can specify from bright and superbright LED options. Colors include red, green and amber in bright LEDs and white, green and blue in the superbright LEDs. Spot illuminated and bicolor versions can also be configured. In addition, design engineers can specify pre-resistored LED models in various voltage values to save time and money during the assembly process.
In order to allow for the legending that so many applications demand, caps are constructed to accommodate various methods of applying legends. Legend packets, specifically created to facilitate a custom appearance are available from NKK upon request, or on NKK's website. Offering a choice of gold or silver contacts, the LB series is rated 3A @ 125V AC, 3A @ 250V AC and 3A @ 30V DC for power models. Logic level devices are rated at 0.4VA maximum @ 28V AC/DC. The mechanical life rating for all momentary action configurations is 1,000,000 operations minimum. Maintained action is 200,000 operations minimum.
