PTR's Job Shop Adds New Electron Beam Welding System with 14' x 8' x 9' Chamber
Enfield, Connecticut – PTR-Precision Technologies, Inc. recently commissioned its largest job shop electron beam welding system.Â
This 5-axis, CNC controlled 25 kW, 150 kV system can achieve weld depths of up to 4" in a single pass. The chamber has internal dimensions of 168' x 94' x112' (approximately 1024 ft³). It was built to accommodate customer demands for high voltage welding in increasingly larger parts. The new welder will complement seven other existing EB welding systems currently in operation at PTR's Enfield, CT job shop.
Contract Welding Job Shop manager Gary LaFlamme says, "This is the third new electron beam welding system PTR has brought on line in the last three years. It is part of an ongoing effort to ensure that our Job Shop has the broadest range of capability and the most modern equipment in the industry."
