NAMCO's New DuraProx Proximity Sensors Survive Toughest Weld-Slag Environments
Extend sensing range to 25mm shielded, 35mm unshielded
MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO - A new generation of proximity sensors available from Namco Controls Corporation promises to offer an extended range of protection and unprecedented durability in critical automotive assembly installations.
NAMCO's DuraProx line of extended range sensors is available in 25mm shielded range and 35mm unshielded range models. With an all-metal design built to survive the toughest welding environments, DuraProx has been proven in independent laboratory tests to survive weld slag build-up and adhesion up to ten times longer than standard sensors.
DuraProx offers many advantages over conventional proximity sensors:
o Weld field immune circuitry
Operates within one inch of a resistance welding electrode (20,000 Amperes RMS/45,000 Amperes peak) without changing state.
o Patented short circuit protection
Prolonged shorts will not damage sensor electronics.
o Immune to false turn-ons
Unaffected by walkie-talkies or other in-plant sources of RF noise.
o Ease of upgrade/replacement
With both upper and lower mounting holes on the bracket, the DuraProx can easily be retrofitted to both traditional rectangular sensors and limit switch-style sensors.
o Five sensors in one
With its cube design, the DuraProx replaces as many as five conventional rectangular sensors with a single part number.
o Easy configuration.
DuraProx is field-adaptable to positions for top, front, left or right sensing. Thus, sensors can be site-adapted to changing application conditions.

Allows for convenient cordset routing, especially with 90° cordsets.
