Proximity Sensors Detect Activity Without Contact


A full line of reed switch actuated proximity sensors that permit the detection of open-close positions magnetically, without physical contact, is available from Greenwich Electronics, Inc. of Greenwich, Rhode Island.

Greenwich Proximity Sensors feature an internal reed switch that is turned on and off by a change in magnetic field and requires no electrical power. Available in a wide range of mounting configurations, they can be supplied in normally-open, normally-closed, transfer (Form C), and latching contact forms with a variety of contact ratings and environmental characteristics.

Suitable for a wide range of factory automation and security applications, Greenwich Proximity Sensors are offered in non-sealed general purpose types, completely sealed designs, and materials for high temperature applications up to 100*C. Hermetically sealed, they use rhodium over gold reeds, high grade magnets, and can include a variety of wire and termination options.
