FieldServer Technologies EtherNet/IP Gateway

March 4, 2004 - FieldServer Technologies, a Sierra Monitor Company, announces the new FieldServer EtherNet/IP Gateway.

This new gateway enables the user to interface to EtherNet/IP devices from a wide range of devices found in the process control and building automation industries. FieldServer Technologies has a large device driver library with over 70 different protocols and experience in interfacing to over 350 different devices. Some examples of interfaces possible with this new gateway are DF1, DH+, DNP, ControlNet, SNMP, Profibus, and Modbus devices. In addition, for the building automation industry, companion drivers for fire alarm panels, HVAC equipment, chillers, boilers and more are available. The EtherNet/IP Gateway is available in the single port FS-B20 Series version or the multiport FS-B40 Series models. The Gateway is a true protocol translator and not simply a tunneling device, thus only one Gateway is needed to link a device to EtherNet/IP. This communication is fast and complete; any information available through the communications port can be translated into the alternative protocol. The FieldServer can act as either a client or server.
