New Features Added to Project Planning Software

Harrisburg, Pa. - Clip Project, Phoenix Contact's project planning software, has been updated to now include features such as an export to 3D-CAD files and automatic downloads of product updates. The new Clip Project 6.1 is a user-friendly program that guides the selection process with photos and specifications of the Phoenix Contact products needed, making it easier to select and configure DIN-rail assemblies.

The new 3D export allows users to export the complete rail in 3D AutoCAD and STEP format. The automatic download function helps users to keep Clip Project up to date with the latest product and software updates. Additional new features include a drag and drop functionality to design rails in less time and an XML interface that enables the import or export to electrical engineering software.

Clip Project software includes Phoenix Contact's automation, surge protection, signal conditioning, relay and power supply products. All DIN-rail assemblies produced with the software can be checked with the auto-correction feature of the software. A dimensionally accurate picture of a DIN-rail assembly with a bill of materials (BOM) can easily be generated and printed. The BOM can also be saved in WORD® or EXCEL® for easy handling and communication.
