Payment Processing, Inc. delivers automotive industry's first payment integration processing only encrypted card data
NEWARK, Calif. - Payment Processing, Inc. (PPI), the industry leader for integrated payments, announces a partnership with Progressive Automotive Systems, Inc., making available a version of Progressive Automotive's R.O. Writer® Shop Management Software integrated with swipe encryption technology. The integration adds encrypted cardholder data security features beyond Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance by ensuring that only encrypted card data - including credit, debit and hand-keyed transactions - are processed.
Utilizing PPI's PayMover SecurePlus capabilities, which integrate the Magtek IPAD device, the data at the point of swipe never handles information "in the clear." Encryption takes place within an encapsulated magnetic read head as the card is swiped, eliminating the chance of intercepting clear text data.
