Latest Version of Rockwell Software RSLogix 5000 Programming Software Expands System Management and Process Configuration Capabilities
Industry leading programming software now includes S88 batch configuration tool embedded in system to reduce development time, improve productivity and quality
MILWAUKEE, August 15, 2005 - The latest version of Rockwell Software RSLogix 5000 programming software from Rockwell Automation offers expanded programming and batch configuration functionality, while helping users improve information integration, and increase productivity and quality. Key features in RSLogix 5000 v.15 include PhaseManager, an S88 batch configuration tool designed to ease configuration and improve productivity and quality; RSLogix Architect, a navigation tool to help improve system configuration, organization and management; and the ability to add Allen-Bradley 1756 I/O to a running Allen-Bradley ControlLogix system.

PhaseManager. PhaseManager embeds an ISA S88-compliant execution method into Logix controllers, greatly simplifying application development and providing users with flexibility to dynamically change the production process to accommodate multiple products or recipes. This functionality provides a standard framework for configuring and sequencing phase state logic. By integrating phase execution directly into the Logix controller's operating system, users can eliminate the need for complex Phase Logic Interface (PLI) code and maintain functionality.
PhaseManager also integrates with Rockwell Software RSBizWare Batch to reduce development time and errors, saving customers' money and reducing their time to market. RSBizWare Batch allows management of multiple products and/or recipes, operations monitoring and even batch execution event and information logging to reduce downtime and provide valuable historical information for genealogy tracking and regulatory compliance.
RSLogix Architect. RSLogix Architect is a management and configuration tool designed to help users better manage, organize and navigate controller configuration files, network configurations and tag relationships within systems. This feature provides a launch pad for software and documentation that is compatible with Rockwell Automation and third-party systems, making it easier for users to:
Manage controller and network configurations;
View the system as a whole, rather than a collection of random configuration files; and
Manage data and information across multiple controllers.
Runtime Editing of I/O. The ability to add Allen-Bradley 1756 I/O modules to a running ControlLogix system helps eliminate downtime and improve flexibility when making process improvements. Runtime addition of I/O extends the capabilities of the ControlLogix system because users do not need to shut down the controller or the network in order to add functionality to their system. This increases system availability, reduces downtime and enables manufacturers to use ControlLogix for high availability systems.
