The New Easy 800 Controller
The EASY 800 controller is the big brother to the EASY 400
and EASY 600 series programmable relays. With increased
capacity and capabilities, the EASY 800 is more than a programmable relay. For example, the EASY 800 has a native
network interface allowing up to 8 EASY 800's to communicate with one another and sharing data, while each running its own program! The memory capacity is sufficient to store a program of up to 256 lines of logic. The built-in LCD screen can display up to 32 screens of text with up to 64 characters per screen, and further, each screen can display up to 4 operational variables.
The EASY 800 controller can be simply and economically networked with one another by means of the built-in 'NET' network interface. Up to eight EASY 800 units can intelligently communicate with one another via this interface at a distance of up to 3000 feet. This same network can also be used to expand your system by adding easy-to-use remote I/O. Furthermore, each EASY 800 device can be locally expanded via the EASY Link interface. These features enable the EASY controller to be used throughout a wide range of automation applications of from 12 to more than 300 I/O points.
The increased built-in screen capacity can be utilized for text messaging, preset display, the display of operational values, as troubleshooting aids, or for operator instructional purposes.
Optional open network interfaces are also available, in addition to the integrated NET interface. They currently include DeviceNet, Profibus-DP, and AS-i. Each EASY 800 network slave node provides a very powerful and cost effective solution for distributed I/O or distributed control. It is able to process its own program remotely, while communicating data back to the network master.
In a continuing tradition, the EASY 800 was designed to provide clear and straightforward operation, and optimum user convenience. That means the direct, on-board programming
of the EASY 800 is accomplished simply and efficiently, in the familiar ladder diagram format. In addition, a user-friendly programming software, EASYSOFT V4.0, is available for configuration, programming, simulation and commissioning of the complete series of EASY 400, EASY 600 and EASY 800 devices.
