pVelocity Releases Next Generation of Profit Optimization Solution

Version 7.4 released - Service-oriented architecture, .NET support, J2EE support enable standardized approach in distributed environment

TORONTO, March 23 - pVelocity Inc., a leading developer of software for profit optimization, today announced that they have released Version 7.4 of their pVelocity solution suite. Version 7.4 positions pVelocity at the leading edge of technology to meet their plans for "Powered by SAP NetWeaver(TM)" certification (expected this quarter), as well as supporting their previously announced Certified status in the Microsoft Partner Program.

Version 7.4 is built with Java J2EE technology, and pV Explorer, the user interface of pVelocity, uses the .NET Microsoft technology. This allows users to access the pVelocity application via web-based technologies from any computer, anywhere, independent of the database.

This version is designed around the service-oriented architecture concept, with a new three-tiered layout, allowing better scalability across different-sized enterprises. pVelocity now supports a generic Bill of Material (BOM) for detailed drill-down, right to the recipe level, for visibility into profitability data at the most granular level. In addition, segmentation can now be conducted at any data level - by customer, by product, by plant, by sales representative, and by region - to give greater insight and analyze data from multiple views. To enhance usability, Version 7.4 adds the ability to save query configurations and report configurations for quick recall, along with new reporting functions.

According to Paula Hucko, CEO of pVelocity, "Version 7.4 is a major step forward for pVelocity users, allowing process manufacturers to convert insight into profits. By supporting .NET and J2EE we meet users' requirements for a standardized approach in the distributed environment of the web."

Version 7.4 is shipping now.
