DTI Introduces AdvancedTCA Processor Blade to Support Next Generation Networks


ATC-4130 Processor Blade available for Telco Equipment Manufacturers developing AdvancedTCA (ATCA) Platforms

RIDGELAND, MS - October 14, 2003 - Diversified Technology, Inc. announced today the release of the ATC-4130 Processor Blade for carrier grade solutions. The ATC-4130 Processor Blade is based on the Intel® E7501 Chipset and utilizes the LV Intel® Xeon® Processor. The board is compliant with the PICMG® 3.0/3.1 specifications for AdvancedTCA platforms.

"DTI's commitment to the Telco market is reflected in the early adoption of the ATCA standard and delivering a high-end processing solution based on Intel® embedded silicon," commented Joe McDevitt, DTI's Hardware Engineering Manager. "TEMS now have the ability to focus on their applications with DTI's ATCA processing solution addressing the processing, power management and shelf management for the core hardware portion."

DTI is also scheduled to release three additional ATCA boards supporting the processing, switch and storage requirements of an ATCA-based telecom system. The ATC-4130 / NAS Blade, and ATS-1136 GigE and Switch Blade are also targeted for a second quarter 2004 release.

About the ATC-4130

The ATC-4130 features Intel's low voltage, high performance Xeon Processor with speeds up to 2.0 GHz; and Intel's E7501 Chipset, providing a 400MHz front side bus. System memory of up to 4GB is supported via two ECC-protected double-date-rate (DDR) SDRAM memory modules. Onboard integration features two 64-bit/66Mhz PMC sites with PCI-X compliancy, two Gigabyte Ethernet base channels, Gigabyte Ethernet Expansion Fabric (ATCA 3.1, Option 1) front panel 10/100 Ethernet port for debug, front panel serial port, two USB ports and five IDE Ports supporting up to 400GB of storage.

The ATC-4130 Processor Blade uses Pigeon Point's management architecture; which has been very successfully tested at the PICMG ATCA Alpha Interoperability Workshops.

Availability

Production shipments begin in Q2/2004. Development units will be available through DTI's beta program in December 2003.
