rapidformXO and RapidForm2004 Provide First Integrated 3D Scanning Solution with Konica-Minolta's new Vivid 9i

Direct Interface with the RapidForm product line allows users to scan and build complete 3D models for reverse engineering and inspection in one seamless application

Seoul, South Korea (August 10, 2004) - INUS Technology announces a new direct interface between the company's powerful 3D scan data processing software and the Konica-Minolta Vivid 9i 3D scanner. The new direct interface offers users robust, accurate and complete solutions for 3D data acquisition and processing.

Using rapidformXO's best-in-class alignment, merging and decimation tools, users can take advantage of the Vivid 9i's fourfold improvement in measurement accuracy. Furthermore, users can now scan large parts with hundreds of scan shots, and easily manage all the data inside rapidformXO, unlike any other software available. Combined with the full feature set of RapidForm2004, users can create high quality polygon meshes, NURBS surfaces and CAD solid models for reverse engineering applications, or perform detailed inspections of their parts using CAD comparison, dimensioning and tolerancing tools.

"rapidformXO is the perfect processing software for the Vivid 9i, because both products have been built with an emphasis on accuracy and performance," said Seockhoon Bae, CEO of INUS Technology. "And combined with the extensive design, reverse modeling and inspection tools in RapidForm2004, users can turn real world parts into CAD and polygon mesh models, or perform quality inspection routines."

Hitoshi Kamezawa, Business Unit Manager of Konica-Minolta 3D, remarked "We are very pleased to work with INUS Technology to provide this class-leading combination of 3D scanning hardware and software to users around the world." rapidformXO is the first 3rd party product to support the Vivid 9i with native support for the CDK file format. The new direct interface will be available for both rapidformXO and RapidForm2004 in late August 2004 to all users via www.rapidform.com.
