Hazardous Area Process Gas Analyser Operates Without Purge
Sugar Land, TX... Servomex Group has launched the Servomex 1900 IR process gas
analyzer that is intrinsically safe and approved for use in ATEX Category 2, Zone 1 hazardous areas without requiring a safety purge. Providing a single % level IR measurement, the new model is suitable for measuring 0 - 10% and 0 - 25% CO2 with more ranges available later in the year along with a full range of % level CO and CH4 measurements. It is also capable of operating with flammable samples such as H2 and C2H2, the T4-rated Servomex 1900 IR uses single-beam, single-wavelength (SBSW) infrared measurement technology in combination with digital electronics to deliver good accuracy coupled with user-friendly features.
Typical applications for the Servomex 1900 IR analyser will be found in the natural gas sector, such as quality control for scrubbers and blending, in gas-to-liquid (GTL) plants for process monitoring and quality control, measuring CO2 in hydrocarbon feedstocks, monitoring CO2 for inerting/blanketing in hazardous areas, measuring CO2 injection at the well head for decarbonization, in HyCO facilities for process control and optimization, and in coal gasification processes for power generation.
With no need for a safety purge, the Servomex 1900 IR is simple to install and costs less to operate than many alternative analyzers. Traditionally the 2500 series has been the only infrared measurement offering from Servomex and it has been targeted at very complicated and demanding applications. The new 1900 IR is designed to meet the needs of applications in addition to those met by the 2500, enabling Servomex to address all the current customer requirements.
Nonetheless, the Servomex 1900 IR boasts an accuracy of better than +/-1% FSD, a linearity of less than 1% FSD and a noise level of less than 1% FSD.
The new Servomex 1900 IR is based upon the already proven platform of the existing 1900 model, with the addition of new digital transducers. Therefore customers can be confident that the new model will exhibit the excellent reliability and longevity for which Servomex products are renowned.
Thanks to an intuitive text display and keypad, operators need virtually no training to use the Servomex 1900 IR. A single 4-20mA output signal enables the instrument to communicate with control systems, plus there are four relay outputs. A rapid response time enables the instrument to play a direct role in process monitoring and control applications.
