LRS Announces Device-Independent Mobile Printing Solution
SPRINGFIELD, Ill., -- Today, Levi, Ray & Shoup, Inc. (LRS) announced a new extension to its LRS® Output Server solution. The Mobile Connector for VPSX(TM) software lets employees print documents from any mobile device to any VPSX®-defined output destination. LRS is concluding its beta program today and releasing the product for general availability.
"Business use of mobile devices is growing at an almost exponential rate," said John Howerter, LRS Senior Vice President of Enterprise Output Management. "Users that receive documents on their phones often want to quickly print a copy instead of reading from a small screen or waiting until they get back to the office. Mobile Connector gives customers a convenient on-ramp to the LRS printing infrastructure, regardless of how users are connected or what mobile devices they use."
The new software eliminates the need to install and manage platform-specific apps on mobile devices. Instead, the solution lets users print documents via email to the LRS Output Server, which authenticates user identity and routes documents to the requested output device. When used in conjunction with LRS' pull printing and document archiving software, the solution helps organizations improve security and reduce costs while increasing the productivity of mobile workers.
