Lowry Introduces Mobile Print Station II to Execute Supply Chain Applications Anytime Anywhere

(BRIGHTON, MI) - Lowry Computer Products, a leading provider of wireless, bar code, RFID and data collection solutions, has introduced a new addition to its Mobile Print Station family - the MPS II. This compact print station features on-demand scanning, printing and data collection functionality. It is ideal for a variety of supply chain applications in warehouses, distribution centers, retail stores and manufacturing plants.

MPS II is currently used in shipping and receiving areas, to eliminate errors associated with batch printing. With the batch printing method, labels are printed in one area and applied to containers in a different area. A Mobile Print Station helps to error-proof the labeling process by staging on-demand printing and labeling in the same area.

"If you can shorten the time and the distance from when the label is printed to when it is applied, you can decrease your label errors," says Brett Gillick, Lowry Account Executive. "The MPS allows for both shorter time and shorter distance from print to actual application."

The MPS II also helps to reduce costs by streamlining various supply chain processes such as shipping and receiving, inventory control, and scrap material data entry into material management/ERP systems.

The large work surface of MPS II accommodates a bar code printer, scanner, PC or terminal, keyboard, mouse, and more - all conveniently reachable. With numerous hardware and power options available, the station can be configured to meet most facility requirements. For high volume applications, MPS II can be completely customized to exact specifications.

"You can run the Mobile Print Station II as a stand-alone workstation or connect it to a host application via a wireless RF network," says Fred Ayar, Product Manager for Lowry. "It has plenty of power to run all of your electronic equipment anywhere in the facility."

The Station's compact design and integrated handle enables smooth maneuverability, yet it has the space for all necessary hardware and power supply components. Rubber-coated wheels help the user to navigate elevated cracks or other potential obstacles on the plant floor. Reduced wheel friction ensures an anti-static environment.
