Barton's DataScan® Integrated Management System Provides Powerful, Fast and Accurate Measurement Solutions
City of Industry, CA 91745 (June 15, 2002) - The DataScan® product family from Barton Instrument Systems consists of six primary instruments and the DataScan® host PC Windows-based management software package that ties together the monitoring system. All models except the DS40 and DS41 include an integral Barton DPE® Dual-Pressure Electronic Sensor that provides highly accurate pressure and differential pressure measurement. The DPE's dual micro-sensors are well protected by 316L steel isolation and range diaphragms.
The highly sophisticated DS10/DS11 Measurement/Telemetry System measures pressure (high- or low-side), differential pressure and level. Measured values and alarm conditions are transmitted to a remote host via an internal 2400 bps modem. The system includes two LCDs for local display of pressure and level measurements, six 4-20 mA analog inputs for remote pressure/DP or other process transmitter inputs, and two contact closure inputs. Optional 4-20 mA and relay outputs are available. Pressure measurement varies from 300/500/1000 psig, while the level measurement ranges from 150/300/500/700" w.c. Accuracy for both pressure and level measurement is ±0.1% of full scale. The enclosure is rated NEMA 4X/IP66 and is CE/CSA approved.
Barton's DS20 system is a battery-powered Tank Level/Pressure Indicator-Transmitter that measures pressure and level. Two LCDs provide for local display. Options include externally powered 4-20 mA outputs and two switch contacts for local alarm notification. Pressure and level measurement accuracy is ±0.25% of full scale.
The Barton DS30 Blind DP & Pressure Transmitter measures pressure, differential pressure and level. Measured values are transmitted as 4-20 mA signals to a remote RTU or indicator.
Barton's DS40/41 Measurement/Telemetry System accepts both analog and contact closure inputs, and transmits all measured values and alarm conditions to a remote host via an internal 2400 bps modem. The DS40/41 includes two LCD displays for local indication of the measured values, six 4-20 mA analog inputs for remote pressure/DP or other process transmitter inputs, and two contact closure inputs. Optional 4-20 mA and relay outputs are available.
The host software package incorporates three main components: (1)
DataScan® PC management software which provides for easy RTU setup, report generation, alarm viewing and acknowledgment, and RTU conditions summary, (2) PollRTU modem software for communications between the PC and remote DS RTUs, and (3) Database File which includes RTU configurations, customer data, and RTU status information received by PollRTU.
Also offered is a "Lite" version of DataScan® PC that prevents end-users from changing configuration settings, and DataScan® PC Net, a networkable version that provides access over LAN/WAN networks.
