Fiso Technologies Introduces a New Fiber Optic Pressure Sensor for Pressure Measurement in Extreme Temperature Environments

The new FOP-MH is the perfect solution for pressure measurement in extreme temperature environments.

QUEBEC, QC - JULY 22, 2005 - FISO Technologies, a leading developer, manufacturer of high-quality fiber optic sensors and measurement systems for R&D industrial and other applications introduces the FOP-MH, a fiber optic pressure sensor designed to tolerate the harsh environmental conditions of aerospace, defense, and automotive applications.

With a temperature range of up to 450°C (840°F), the FOP-MH fiber optic pressure sensor is designed for aerospace, defense, and automotive applications, where extreme temperature conditions can often be found. It is compatible with all of FISO's line of fiber optic signal conditioners, allowing acquisition speed of up to 200 kHz.

Extremely accurate with precision of less 1 % of Full Scale and highly sensitive with a resolution as high as 0.1 % Full Scale, the FOP-MH provides also a very small foot print (less than 1mm diameter). So far, pressure sensors were limited to less than 200°C and FISO's new sensor represent a major breakthrough where temperature is mastered to 450°C.

According to Francois Pelletier, Vice-President Sales & Marketing at FISO Technologies, "This new product demonstrates the flexibility of our patented sensor technologies and our ability to push further the capabilities of fiber optic sensors, making them available to a much broader range of challenging applications."

"The FOP-MH, an advanced product, is our answer to many requests in the aerospace, defense, and automotive markets. The actual design of the sensor is really promising and we plan to develop a sensor that will measure temperature in applications where the needs are even higher." adds Luc Langlois, Product Line Manager at FISO.
