Hardinge Inc. Introduces Economical VDI Tool Presetter System at IMTS 2002

Hardinge Inc. (Elmira, New York) will be demonstrating a manual VDI tool presetter system at the IMTS Show in Booth #A-8000. This system is designed to reduce machine downtime during job setup on horizontal and vertical turning lathes. Machine operators can measure tool position height and length outside of the machine during cycling, thereby minimizing downtime during setup.

This manual unit offers an economical solution to VDI tool presetting at every cell-just $1,250 for the complete system. The small 12" x 18" footprint makes this a portable unit that could be shared by operators, or individual units for every cell. System includes a 12" manual height gage, centerline block, 12" x 18" granite surface plate and your choice of a VDI 30 or VDI 40 toolholder block. Individual components are also available for use with your existing equipment. Eliminate time spent traveling to the inspection room at the other end of the shop, or avoid using the machine tool to measure the dimensions. (Many operators perform tool touch off "inside" of the machine, creating downtime.)
