Power Warning Alert reduces arc flash risk.

Press Release Summary:

To create electrically safe work condition for electricians performing maintenance on de-energized systems, VoltageVision(TM) provides external indication of voltage inside electrical system enclosures. Product mounts to panel exterior and is hardwired into load side of main disconnect. Powered from same voltage it indicates, R-3W has redundant design that exceeds surge requirements for Category III certified voltmeter and operates from 40-750 Vac and 30-1,000 Vdc.

Simple Device, Huge Electrically Safety Value VoltageVision(TM) Power Warning Alert Increase Safety, Reduce Arc Flash Risk

[Davenport, IA: June 21, 2005] -"Is there voltage?" - Creating an "electrically safe work condition" is critical for electricians performing maintenance on de-energized systems. The VoltageVision(TM) (Part #: R-3W) Power Warning Alert is mounted to the panel exterior and hardwired into the load side of the main disconnect, thereby providing external indication of voltage inside electrical system enclosures. The R-3W is easy to install and apply, low cost ($89), and its inherent reliability provide electrical maintenance with immense safety value.

"The VoltageVision(TM) R-3W is elegantly simple, yet has huge implications for the electrical safety community. The electrical safety value of this device is immense." Philip Allen, President, Grace Engineered Products.

Voltage is the single determining factor if an electrical accident or an arc flash is possible--No voltage means: No accident, No arc flash. After disconnecting power to an enclosure, electricians can "see" the internal voltage state while the enclosure is safely closed. VoltageVision(TM) provides "ON/OFF" voltage indication, thereby "pre-verifying" that an "electrically safe work condition" exists before opening the electrical enclosure. VoltageVision(TM) is like a "hard wired voltmeter" without a power supply because it is powered from the same "voltage" that it indicates. This device also reduces the risk of arc flash because the electrician will know the power state inside the enclosure, before verifying isolation with a meter. VoltageVision(TM)'s superior redundant design exceeds the surge requirements for a Category III certified voltmeter. The VoltageVision(TM) R-3W is an additional safety measure between maintenance personnel and hazardous voltage.

The VoltageVision(TM) R-3W is "one-size-fits-all" because it detects both AC & DC voltage and operates from 40-750VAC/30-1000VDC. The encapsulated construction and redundant circuit design provide superior reliability. The R-3W is C-UL-US Nema 4X listed, and fits into a standard 30mm pushbutton hole.

Grace Engineered Products manufactures the GracePort(R) line of convenience interfaces. GracePorts(R) extend the data ports of internally mounted devices from the inside, to the outside of control panels. Grace provides over 6000 different combinations of cables, connectors, and outlets in NEMA 1/12/4/4X, stainless steel, and Nema 7/9 housings. All ports are clearly marked as to their function. Orders are processed in any quantities with a typical 3-5 day delivery.
