WIELAND INTRODUCES DIN-RAIL MOUNTABLE THREE-PHASE SWITCH-MODE POWER SUPPLY
BURGAW, N.C. (February 28, 2002) - Wieland Electric Inc., introduced a horizontal three-phase switch-mode power supply for 24V industrial control applications. Available in a 20A and 40A version, the wipos Series power supplies are conveniently DIN-rail mountable for use in control cabinets with high power requirements.
"Wieland has designed a high-amperage power supply with all of the safety and troubleshooting features available to the industry," said product manager Marc Immordino. "The difference is that the wipos Series has done it in a compact and easily mountable module offering a complete cabinet solution to controls engineers."
Standard features of wipos Series power supplies include thermostated power limitation control and Power Factor Correction (PFC) according to EC 61000-3-2 standards. And internal potentiometer allows for adjustable current limiting, while a built-in status display is used to indicate overload. The wipos Series provides several methods to avoid overload problems such as hiccup mode, fold-back mode, constant current mode and over-current switch-off mode. Other standard features include:

* Convenient output current default for parallel operation

* Temperature-prompted power limitation
* Extended output voltage range of 23V - 30V
* Red LED to signal overloads

The wipos three-phase horizontal power supply is CE and UL approved. (CSA certification is pending.)
