Power Supplies operate without forced air cooling.

Press Release Summary:

Operating from universal input range of 90–265 Vac with PFC, CPFE1000FI Series delivers single outputs of 12, 24/28, or 48 Vdc. Output adjustment range of ±20% enables power supplies to match customer-specific applications. Available in U channel case style with or without cover, or as PCB assembly measuring 254 x 107 x 40 mm, conduction-cooled 1,000 W units offer coating option to protect against humidity and contaminants. I2C bus interface sends operational parameters to remote locations.

Original Press Release:

Conduction Cooled 1000W Power Supplies Feature 60% Size Reduction

TDK Corporation announces the introduction of TDK-Lambda’s CPFE1000FI of baseplate/conduction-cooled 1000W power supplies.  When compared to TDK-Lambda’s MIL-STD rated CPFE1000F, the overall product size has been reduced by 60%. Capable of operating without forced-air cooling, the supplies are suited to outdoor, sealed enclosure, communications and harsh environment industrial applications, including RF amplifier and ground-based satellite equipment.

These single output power supplies operate with a wide universal input range of from 90 to 265VAC with PFC and are available with DC outputs of 12V, 28V (adjustable to 24V) or 48VDC. Due to its wide output adjustment range of +/- 20%, the output voltage can be set to match a variety of customer-specific applications. The outputs of these units can be connected in series or parallel for higher power applications. The units will operate at full load with baseplate temperatures of -40oC to +85 oC.

Case style options for the CPFE1000FI include a U channel, with or without a cover, or as a PCB assembly measuring just 254mm x 107mm x 40mm.  A coating option is also available for all models, providing protection against humidity and the ingress of containments. The PCB style is suitable for users requiring a fully certified solution, but do not have the expertise or time to develop a custom power module based solution.

A distinguishing feature of the CPFE1000F series is its internal I2C bus interface which can send operational parameters of the power supply to remote locations. These parameters include: output voltage, output current, baseplate temperature, serial number, model number and date-code. In addition, the I2C interface provides a means to turn the power supply On or Off from a remote site and receive DC Good and over-temperature signals. In addition to the I2C bus, traditional signals/controls are provided including an output good signal, remote on/off control, remote sense lines, active current-share, and an auxiliary output of 12V/20mA.

The CPFE1000FI power supplies are certified to IEC/UL/CSA/EN 60950-1 and are CE marked for the Low Voltage and RoHS2 Directives.  The units also comply with EN 55011-B, EN 55022-B and FCC Class B for conducted emissions (Class A radiated), and meet the IEC 61000-4 immunity and IEC 61000-3-2 harmonic current standards.
