Pulizzi Engineering, Inc. Announces V42 and V70 Vertical Power Distribution

Santa Ana, CA- Pulizzi Engineering, Inc. announces the release of a new, multiple configuration power distribution unit (PDU) with current monitoring. The V42 and V70 Series allow for Power Distribution in a compact vertical strip. This PDU is the next in a series of "build your own part number" models developed by Pulizzi Engineering. This design is ideal for rack and electronic cabinet enclosures where high density is required. The 0U vertical solution will fit in the side of a cabinet, thereby saving valuable rack space for other equipment. The series has eight easy-to-configure options, not including the mounting options. The user can have a custom design that meets their exact needs without the cost and lead time normally required for custom configurations. There are two different vertical package styles, 42 inches and 70 inches tall. The unit is 2 inches by 2 inches with receptacles running the length of the strip for easy equipment power connection. The unit features rugged, steel construction with a black finish and detachable mounting brackets that allow for universal rack enclosure compatibility.

Depending on the version, there are between 12 and 32 receptacles per unit to distribute power to many devices. The PDU can be configured with either straight blade or locking receptacles and plugs. The locking option is especially important for critical systems. There are 14 different voltage and current configurations. This includes 120 volt, 240 volt, 15 amp, 20 amp and 30 amp input options (the output current is derated to 80% of input). Input plug types include: 5-15P, 5-20P, 6-1SP, 6-20P, L5-30P, L6-30P and L14-30P. There is optional EMI/RFI filtering to protect the connected equipment from electrical noise. The power cable length can be configured to a maximum of 15 feet. The final option is current monitoring, provided by a two digit, digital display on the front panel. The display will show the current draw of the connected equipment. This feature is especially important when connecting equipment to ensure proper loading. This also allows the PDU to be used to its full load capacity. This provides the user maximum power density and prevents borderline loading, which can cause accidental circuit breaker tripping. The PDU design meets the requirements for UL 489 listed disconnect circuit breakers, ensuring your equipment and personnel are protected. List prices range from $300 to $900 depending on options, with OEM quantity discounts available.
