The Portlet Suite takes advantage of a high-performance caching layer that insulates the portal from performance bottlenecks caused by slow or unreliable data feeds. Along with allowing users to view highly configurable content feeds in RSS and other formats, the InfoView Portlet provides a variety of other commonly requested features, including searching, filtering, sorting, paging, aggregation, user ratings, user comments and user "read" marks. Display formats, such as categorized and hierarchical views and a "skinnable" look and feel, can be set administratively or by the user and can be enabled or disabled by the portal administrator as needed.
InfoView Portlet brings together the most popular portlets for a comprehensive solution to portal functionality: The InfoPublisher Portlet allows users to create their content feeds, or blogs, for viewing through the InfoView Portlet or external syndication; and feeds can be owned by individuals or groups, making collaborative group blogging simple. The Stock Portlet enables users to create regularly updated stock portfolios that can be displayed in a variety of formats. With the Weather Portlet, users can track weather conditions and forecasts for multiple locations and display them in a variety of formats. The ToDo Portlet and the Events Portlet allow tracking of group or individual tasks and monthly, weekly or daily calendars of events, which can be easily tracked, displayed, categorized, searched, prioritized and aggregated.
