These devices provide constant-current sensor excitation and offer additional features such as gain, integration, sensor bias monitoring, battery status indication, and input fault detection.
Advantages of using battery-powered signal conditioners include portability, low-noise operation, reduction of ground loop problems, and lower cost. They are an ideal choice for in-vehicle testing applications, or for remote locations where line power may be unavailable. Units utilize standard 9-volt alkaline batteries; long-life lithium batteries are also available.
