MILWAUKEE - Sept. 27, 2002 - TEKLYNX® International, the world's leading developer of software products for the automatic identification and data collection (AIDC) marketplace, has introduced the new PRINTPAD(TM) CE portable printing device which will replace the current PRINTPAD 500, 2000, and 4000 models. PRINTPADs are generally used in the retail and production industries to store and retrieve label formats in order to print to a bar code printer without the need for a personal computer on the store or shop floor.
TEKLYNX is the first to bring Windows CE capabilities to a hand-held printing device. The PRINTPAD CE sends variable data collected via the built-in scanner or keyboard to a wide range of databases. Using standard CE .NET tools, PRINTPAD CE input is easily integrated with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other enterprise systems.
"The new PRINTPAD CE development is the result of many months of surveying the market to provide the necessary features that are in line with today's technology," said Tony Tereschak, global product manager at TEKLYNX. The PRINTPAD CE boasts many new features such as new methods of importing data from a variety of external sources, including scales, scanners and verifiers, using Universal Serial Bus (USB), Ethernet connections, and through its flash card socket, in addition to the standard serial and parallel modes. "We have included a higher file storage capacity, a virtually indestructible keyboard (VIK) -- all powered by the new Windows CE .NET operating system," continued Tereschak.
