Larson Electronics Releases a Compact Portable Power Distribution System
Larson Electronics, an industrial lighting leader, announced the release of a portable power transformer that converts 480 volts AC to 120 volts AC and ideal for powering high voltage lighting and equipment.
The TX-3000VA-480.120-1XAO portable power transformer from Larson Electronics is built to provide operators with a reliable source to step-down 480 volt equipment and operate it on 120 volts. This compact power distribution transformer is designed for portability and convenience as well as durability and includes an elevated base platform for protection from standing water and weather proof construction. With overload and short circuit protection, this unit safely allows operators to power equipment up to 3000 watts from a 480 volt AC power source.
This portable transformer features a primary 480 volt current that is brought in by 10 feet of 12/3 SOOW cord terminated in a L8-20P twist-lock cord cap. The output side is equipped with a GFCI protected 20-amp 120 volt duplex receptacle with a hinged weatherproof cover. To connect input current, the operator must insert the plug and twist it until it locks into place in order to energize the plug. This design provides a secure and safe connection that prevents arcing and accidental plug pullouts. Larson Electronics can build transformers to customer specifications.
