Portable Monitor offers continuous online data collection.
Press Release Summary:
Providing predictive machinery health monitoring, multi-channel CSI XP32 can be carried into field and attached to turbo machinery for continuous monitoring on temporary basis. Unit offers simultaneous collection, storage, and access of up to 32 channels of vibration data. More than 400 hours of data can be stored for retrieval and analysis. Live dashboard enables user to view plots of events as they occur to avoid unexpected shutdowns or prevent catastrophic failures.
Original Press Release:
Emerson Introduces Portable Multi-Channel Monitor for Continuous Online Data Collection
KNOXVILLE, TENN (May 3, 2007) - Emerson Process Management announces a new innovation for plant-wide predictive machinery health monitoring. The CSI XP32 Machinery Health Expert fills the gap between the world leading two-channel portable analyzer and the permanently-installed online vibration monitor. The CSI XP32 can be carried into the field and attached to turbo machinery for continuous monitoring on a temporary basis. The portable CSI XP32 Machinery Health Expert includes a transient processor for sleeve bearing turbo machinery and a PeakVue® processor specifically for balance of plant rolling element machines and gearboxes.
The CSI XP32 allows users to record hundreds of hours of continuous-time waveforms, monitor the machines live, and even play back the data as an "instant replay" from multiple camera angles. The live dashboard gives decision-makers the ability to view plots of events as they occur, enabling them to analyze the operation to avoid unexpected shutdowns or prevent catastrophic failures. The live views are especially useful during startup and coast down periods when signs of trouble are most likely to appear. Four independent speed/phase channels make it possible to monitor the transient events of four independent machines concurrently.
Simultaneous collection, storage, and access of up to 32 channels of vibration data are capabilities not previously available in a portable field-based monitor. Fifty to 400+ hours of data can be stored for retrieval and analysis (depending on the number of channels recorded). This continuous recording will provide detailed information needed to analyze a machine's operation for maintenance or planning purposes.
Users can view seven different plots on every bearing of a machine with real-time updates. Orbits, shaft centerlines, bode/nyquist, waveforms, cascades and spectral plots are available live and simultaneously using full dual-monitor functionality. An easy navigator enables technicians to move efficiently from plot to plot.
The CSI XP32 Machinery Health Expert is a component of Emerson's PlantWeb® digital plant architecture and functions in conjunction with AMS(TM) Suite: Machinery Health(TM) Manager. Integration means less training and translates into cost savings for users that already own AMS Machinery Manager.
