Portable Gas Detectors protect entire crew from gas hazards.

Press Release Summary:

Using electrochemical sensors, Model X5 simultaneously monitors up to 5 gases including VOCs, while single-gas Model XD monitors range of toxic gases at ppm levels and % oxygen concentration. Both units are protected against water and dust ingress and include multi-language support, datalogging, backlit display, and alarms. Up to ten XD/X5 units can be connected to optional MicroDock II docking station, which offers automatic 1-touch calibration/bump testing/data transfer and record keeping.

Honeywell Expands X Series Line of Portable Gas Detection

Honeywell Analytics X Series designed to protect an entire crew of workers,
includes 5 gas detector (X5), single-gas detector (XD) and testing/calibration station (MicroDock II)

Lincolnshire, February 1, 2008 -Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today announced that three new products have been added to its X Series line of durable, easy-to-use portable gas detection instrumentation. The X series now has the capability of protecting an entire industrial crew from toxic and combustible gas hazards. The X series now includes:

o X5 model five-gas detector simultaneously monitors up to five gases, including volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
o XD model single-gas detector monitors a wide range of toxic gases at parts per million levels and % oxygen concentration
o MicroDock II test/calibration docking system is compatible with X5 and XD portable detectors. Expandable up to 10 docking modules, the MicroDock II offers automatic "one touch" calibration/bump testing/data transfer and simplified record keeping, plus battery charging of up to 6 detectors (X5 model only, wall adaptor required).

The X5 and XD detectors use a wide range of Honeywell's electrochemical sensors, available in many user-selectable configurations to detect the most common gases that crews are likely to encounter in industrial environments. In addition, the X5 offers an optional IR sensor for monitoring % of carbon dioxide and a PID sensor for detecting volatile organic compounds. Both units offer small, lightweight, robust designs that protect against water and dust ingress and extreme impact. Other common features include multi-language support, datalogging, large, easy-to-read backlit display, attention grabbing alarms and compatibility with the MicroDock II automatic docking station and Fleet Manager II data management software.

Up to ten XD and X5 units can be connected to Honeywell's optional MicroDock II docking station. This capability allows the user to manage calibration, bump testing, data-logging and battery recharging (up to six detectors, X5 model only) of multiple gas detectors -all within one module. The MicroDock is expandable to meet the needs of larger crews.

"With these new X Series products, industrial safety managers can rely on Honeywell more than ever to provide a quality, cost-effective gas detection solution for protection of an entire crew," said Ken Schmidt, national sales manager for Honeywell Analytics Americas, Portables. "The user-friendly design and practical, cost-effective advantages of X series units will make it easier for contractors and safety managers to ensure compliance as well as failsafe protection."

The Honeywell Analytics X series also includes the Minimax XP (single-gas) and Minimax X4 (4-gas) portable gas detectors. All X series units include a standard two-year factory warranty and are available through distributors of Honeywell Analytics gas detection instrumentation.
