Delta Goes On-Air with New Portable Air Compressor

JUNE 20, 2002 - NEW YORK CITY, NY - Delta Machinery announced today the introduction of its new maintenance-free eight-gallon air compressor - the model 66-501 - during a press conference at New York City's Hotel InterContinental. Product Manager James Vintzel said, "We've created the perfect air compressor for smaller projects and customized jobs. End users can now enjoy the benefits of a portable, maintenance-free air compressor at an affordable price." The model 66-501's two peak horsepower motor features an oil-free design to offer less maintenance time, while its replaceable brushes help to extend the motor's life. Additionally, the lightweight 120 Volt universal motor starts easily - even under low voltage conditions - and end users can operate the unit with an extension cord without tripping circuit breakers. The unit delivers 3.7 cubic feet per minute (CFM) at 40 PSI, and 2.6 at 90 PSI. With an eight-gallon storage capacity air tank and 125-PSI maximum pressure, the model 66-501 can support heavy usage of brad nailers, staplers and finish nailers, and medium- to-heavy roofing and framing nailer usage. While the unit's horizontal design makes it easier to read the gauges, it also creates a smaller footprint, making it convenient to store. With built-in automatic thermal overload protection, matched with a C.U.L. listing and ASME safety valve, the model 66-501 meets all safety codes. End users will find the model 66-501 convenient to use in a variety of applications from spray lacquers and enamels, to stains, primers, and urethanes. Now available, the model 66-501 is geared toward smaller jobs and customized projects like shutters, wicker furniture, picture frames, and other small restoration projects. Standard equipment for Delta's new model 66-501 includes a seven-piece gravity feed spray gun kit, 11-piece blow gun and inflation kit, 25-feet of coil hose, and a roll of Teflon tape. It is expected to sell for approximately $199. Headquartered in Jackson, Tennessee, Delta Machinery, a subsidiary of Pentair, Inc.
